Nathanos Blightcaller

Hi all!
Just tried to do the Nathanos Blightcaller fight, but due to restrictions on converting a regular group to a raid, I was unable to fight him with more than the usual 4 bots. Even standing just outside of aggro range I kept getting the message that I can't form a raid with bots outside of a raid instance or a world boss area. Is there a way around this in order to solo the fight and complete the quest? Or do I need to do it the old fashioned way by grouping up with other players?
